Juan-Carlos “J.C.” Planas
Attorney and current Florida House of Representative member Juan-Carlos “J.C.” Planas joined Kurkin Forehand Brandes as of counsel. Aside from assisting with commercial litigation, he also assists with local government relations and government procurement.
Planas was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2002 for District 115 serving Westchester, parts of East Kendall and Pinecrest, and other communities in Miami-Dade County. In 2004, he began serving as the vice-chair of the house’s Judiciary Committee, and also is currently the chairman of its Public Safety and Domestic Security Policy Committee.
Before being elected to office, Planas was an assistant state attorney in Miami-Dade County. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, and his J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida.
